The 411 On Fall 2013 Color Direction
Fall is almost upon us and the Fall 2013 color direction shows there are no rules. In the past, the palettes for Spring and Fall were clearly defined. Today, there is a blending of color from deep darks to vibrant brights and everything in between. Even pastels are now being used for Fall. Colors that were once only used for Spring are now being incorporated into Fall collections and vice-versa.
Fall 2013 Color Direction For Women
Pink was a key color shown in may collections for Fall 2013 including Carven, Miu Miu, Céline and Chanel. Orange was another important color as highlighted by Michael Kors and Zac Posen. Red, always a favorite amongst designers, took the lead at Dolce & Gabbana, Nina Ricci, Valentino and Marc Jacobs. Cobalt Blue, once thought to be only for men, was front and center at Milly, Valentino and Oscar de la Renta. Other key colors include Purple, Moss, Sapphire Blue and of course, Black.

Fall 2013 Color Direction For Men
For men the color ranges are typically dark with the Blue shades like Cobalt and Delft Blue playing a key role and in some cases, taking over for Black. Green is also important in hues from Loden to Spruce. Other highlights included a Burnt Orange, Wine and Camel. Tonal blue and green combinations appear to be the most directional,highlighted by shots of bright accent colors like Yellow and Orange.
